Government Loans & Grants

The Government has an extensive aid program in place designed for helping those in financial need. Contrary to bank loans, the loans offered by government selflessly benefit the public and the economy in general. The Government offers low interest rate loans to those in financial difficulty that seek help to finance a number of purposes such as start a new business, finance their higher education and buy their first home.

Government grants are provided by government agencies all over the country and at all levels of administration: there are Federal, State and Local Government Grants.  None of these Government Grants require a credit history check, collateral, security deposits or co-signers as even citizens with bad credit or bankruptcy history can receive them. However, each agency has its own specific requirements for loan application so each interested citizen should analyze whether he/she is eligible and best qualified for a particular Government grant.

Most Government grants are received from first home buyers. A large number of citizens is eligible of receiving this kind of grand, however many people don’t benefit from it. Most of the time, real estate agents provide the required support as they may assist in proposing the programs a citizen is qualified for and help with the documentation.

Government grants provide a great help to those who plan to launch a small business or operate one especially in industries that the Government perceives as important for the economy. The Federal Government is giving out over 150 billion dollars in business grants each year. Government grants can be used to acquire machinery or finance other initial and ongoing working capital needs.

A large number of Government loans and grants are directed to college students that come from less affluent families. Given the ever-increasing college fees the popularity of this financing has been rising. A student can pay back the loan after completing his/her studies and acquiring a paying job. There are also Government grants reserved for a number of interest groups such as Veterans and their family members, American Indians, low income families, non-profit organizations, artists, researchers and the Disabled, to name just a few.

On the downside, Government grants and loans are provided only to law-abiding citizens and require a great deal of paper work to be completed. This fact can prolong this process to more than a few days which is the norm with other bank loans.
